Minnesota State Representative Erin Koegel is recovering after losing three fingers due to a power saw accident.

According to a GoFundMe for Koegel, on Sunday, August 22, she lost control of the power saw, cutting off her middle, ring, and pinky finger on her left hand.

The GoFundMe states that she was not alone when the incident occurred. "Erin was very lucky to have her brother's girlfriend, Hannah with her who is a trained EMT who immediately helped get Erin stable and stop the bleeding."

She was transported by helicopter to North Memorial Health Hospital for emergency surgery to try and save her fingers. The doctor was able to reattach her middle finger but, unfortunately, could not save her ring or pinky.

The funding page says that the money raised will help support Erin and her family.

"Erin and her Husband Steve have a two year old daughter Clara that Erin cares for full time when the MN House is not in session -- and her husband needs to return to work to support the family. Donations to Erin's Go Fund me will help the family with hiring a mommy's helper / child care, food and necessities for the family while Erin recovers from this accident."
