It was announced on Thursday afternoon that the Vikings put Anthony Barr on their COVID-19 list.
In 2019 Barr had 79 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The pairing of Barr with Eric Kendricks has been labeled as one of the top pairs in the NFL, so it will be critical to have Barr healthy in 2020.
Barr joins his teammates Justin Jefferson and Ifeadi Odenigbo on the list, where the Vikings now have eight total players total. Just because these players are on the COVID-19 list doesn’t officially mean they tested positive for the virus. The NFL created the new reserved list to place players who test positive or come in close contact with someone who has the virus.
The entire NFL is going through COVID related issues, whether that’s players testing positive, coming in close contact with someone who is positive or players opting out of the 2020 season completely.
It will be interesting to see how the 2020 season plays out with so much uncertainty still circulating around the NFL season.
