Private Jet Forced To Make Emergency Landing After DJ Threatened Passengers

A private plane heading to New York from Las Vegas had to make an emergency landing in Nebraska after one of the passengers started throwing items and threatened to behead other passengers shortly after takeoff. DJ Maurice Paola boarded the flight, which was run by JetSmarter, a company that connects people who are looking to fly on private planes, in Vegas and got into an argument with a member of the flight crew.

The argument intensified and Paola started throwing objects at other people onboard and bashing his head into the wall. He began to threaten the passengers, which included a family and their two young children, saying he would decapitate them if the plane did not land.

The pilot came out and tried to calm Paola down. After he was unsuccessful, he decided to make an emergency landing. The flight crew barricaded themselves in the cockpit and used an oxygen bottle to defend themselves against Paola.

When the plane landed in Nebraska, deputies boarded the 12-passenger jet and used a Taser to subdue Paola. He was arrested and charged with interfering with flight crew members, which is a felony that carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
