Being a ridiculous Star Wars fan its frustrating to see so much negative commentary around the popular franchise that I love. In an addition to my normal weekly Star Wars podcast I decided to dive into why all this negativity is largely perceived and not actually a reality. While the focus of this commentary is strictly about pop culture and Star Wars it also mirrors our current political climate that says we as a nation are more divided than ever. When you look at the timeline of the rise of social media and the Obama presidency, Trump/Hillary election cycle, it mirrors Disneys purchase of Lucasfilm and the current release of films. Simply swap politics Left vs Right for Star Wars Fans vs Frustration and the theory rings true for both, we are not as divided as it seems, we just can't get away from the negativity.
