If you haven't been following the controversy around Golden Globe winner Aziz Ansari - it all started with this piece, published on Babe.net, where a woman recounts a date she went on with the actor/comedian. It was not a good date, to put it mildly. Clearly the two of them had very different expectations on how the evening would go, and Ansari engaged in fairly aggressive behavior once they returned to his apartment.
Since the piece was published, many have felt that it's damaged the credibility of the #MeToo movement, by equating what amounted to a crappy date into actual sexual assault and workplace harassment.
