The Justice & Drew morning show crew (plus Sam's mom) joined Lawyer Extraordinaire Jeffrey O'Brien at the NFL Alumni Minnesota Chapter "Caring for Kids" Gala Dinner at a table that also included Vikings legends Carl Eller and Chuck Foreman and their wives, as well as former NFL quarterback and current head football coach at Cretin-Derham Hall Brooks Bollinger and his wife.
The entire evening was a lot of fun. There was a silent auction, a live auction, some very inspirational child speakers, and dinner. There was a $10,000 drawing that everyone in attendance was registered for, and they called twenty finalists up to the stage at the end of the night, so naturally Drew was one of the finalists. One by one they drew every finalists name to eliminate them, and allowed the finalists to sell their spot to anyone in the audience. Ever the poker player, Drew made it all the way to the final 10 finalists for a chance to win $10,000 and then he decided to sell his spot for $500. Sam was mad at him for about 30 seconds for giving up the chance to win the grand prize, until his name was called almost immediately afterward which subsequently eliminated him from the drawing. So, surprise, surprise, Drew went home richer than he came!
Sam and her mom, Mary, ended up totally twinning for the night... It wasn't on purpose (according to Sam). They bought their dresses separately, on different days, and at different stores, and when they saw each other on the day of the gala, they found out they are basically the same person. Sigh.
